About User Interviews
“User Interviews is the fastest and most reliable way to recruit humans for research. Thousands of companies like Atlassian, Figma, Amazon, and Spotify rely on us to connect them with diverse audiences to build products and experiences that they’ll love.”

By 2023, tech companies were all sharing a similar aesthetic: clean, flat, vectorial - a corporate Memphis style.
Nothing against that graphic direction in particular, but User Interviews wanted to have a distinctive look that represented their research methodologies and processes: a more analog, and less digital, approach.

They reached out to me and fellow illustrator Olivia Whitworth due to our illustration styles.
I worked on a series of multi-layered textures representing the preferred research method of User Interviews: the mixed method. Afterwards, Olivia cut out shapes out of these textures and drew linear doodles on top.

The art was used for User Interviews’ blog (Fresh Views) and podcast (Awkward Silences).

In addition to the stylistic results, the illustration process between me and Olivia represent the mixed method of research that User Interviews employs.

The blog and the podcast gained, through this re-brand, a more analog and human touch - succesfully conveying the user-centered approach that User Interviews always strives to have in its research.
