About me

Luisa Vidales Reina
Designer, illustrator and visual artist from CDMX  ︎

My aim with visual communication is to build a relevant bridge between the information and the end user: to translate abstract/intangible aspects into a visual system specifically designed to bring the user closer to the information from an empathic approach.

Ideally, I want to contribute towards environmental and social justice causes from an intersectional perspective.

Something I deeply enjoy from working in visual communication is the opportunity to keep learning from a variety of disciplines. Additionally, I always strive to include a multi-and transdisciplinary perspective in my research and methodologies.

Past clients include AFP Golden Gate Chapter, TATA Mosaicos, Blue Hour Goods, UdK Berlin, FMCN, Aire Libre Studio, Hotel El Ganzo, Fintual, User Interviews, Museo Tamayo Arte Contemporáneo, Estudio María Marín de Buen, Galería Karen Huber, Museo Franz Mayer, Armario Comunal and Benefit Cosmetics.

My work has been shown within group exhibitions in the US, Mexico and South Korea, and published in Mexico, England and the US.

I hold a BFA in Graphic Design with a specialization in Visual Arts from Universidad Iberoamericana Ciudad de México.

I am part of the artistic collective Tejiendo Ciudad, which explores themes around the city, flâneuserie and accessibility from a feminist perspective.

During June 2025 I’ll be working as artist in residence in Casa Snowapple on a series of 35mm photographs about the Río Magdalena (Mexico City’s last river).

Available prints of my illustrations can be found in La Fiera and Greko Home; soon in Muri Muri
